IMC Financial markets
IMC financial markets started on the floor in Amsterdam 1989, as a market maker in Dutch single stock options. When European exchanges started to transform into electronic market places, IMC financial markets was one of the first to start electronic trading. In the last 20 years we've expanded our product range to Equity index derivatives, Fixed Income, Commodities and much more. We specialize in electronic trading of listed cash and derivatives markets, combined with trading over the phone. IMC financial markets employs around 600 people and has offices in Amsterdam, Zug, Chicago, Sydney and Hong Kong. Modern financial markets are at the very leading edge of information technology today. Over the last two decades, trading has gone almost 100% electronic and trade volumes have increased dramatically. IMC has been at the cutting edge of this transition, and we were one of the earliest adopters of trading technology. Today it is a critical and intrinsic source of competitive edge for us. This edge comes from keeping our technical people in very close proximity to our traders: putting the best technology available to work and collaborating with each other on innovative ways of using and improving it.

BSDeurope.eu BSDeurope.eu

Although our name is new, we have been in business for a long time. We have been working with BSD since the early days of the BSD open source projects, with UNIX since the early 1980's and in ICT since the 1970's.

It was about time to make the BSD operating systems more visible and better accepted in Europe and give companies and organisations that use BSD systems a place to go for help. That's why we decided to join forces and make absolutely clear that we are devoted to BSD.

Having been around in the Open Source and UNIX communities for decades, we know many of the key players both in Europe and world wide. We are talking to many parties to establish a firm network throughout Europe to help customers all over the continent and make BSD a acceptable as some other well known open source software.

Sane
SANE has been organising a series of bi-annual international conferences on System Administration and Network Engineering (http://www.sane.nl), starting in 1998 and ending in 2006. Since then many factors turned against us, and in 2010 we have finally concluded that organizing new SANE conferences is not a viable option anymore. However, we are extremely happy to see that the European BSD community is still able to pull off the trick and organize new conferences with a similar spirit. Therefore we have decided to donate 5000 euro of the left-over after dissolving Stichting SANE to EuroBSDcon 2011 (with thanks to NLUUG (http://www.nluug.nl) for facilitating the funds transfer).
